Chris's LEGO-Themed 30th

Our sweet Dadda-Man turned 30 this year, and we had to celebrate him in a big way with a surprise dinner at one of his favorites, Upper Crust on the Classen Curve. He's continued to embrace his love of LEGOs, so it only made sence to include this in his birthday celebrations.

The plan was for everyone to arrive 30 minutes before us, but then a big storm with tornadic activity blew through right as we were supposed to arrive. On our way, I almost caved and told him as I began balling about the impending weather doom, but all worked itself out, and many friends and family were there to help celebrate him!

We had four tables full of friends and family, and each one had it's own LEGO-themed decor, as well as some of Chris's favorite desserts. Luckily, we have our friends, Darin & Francesca, and my family arrive early and setup everything for us!

The old college group plus teacher friends!

LEGO shaped candy melts, LEGO sugar cookies,
and mint Oreo truffle cupcakes for dessert...YUM!!!

The "bros" table...a mix of junior high, high school, college, and work friends!

These little guys are spray painted baby food jars filled with M&M's as favors,
but we kept this one since it was made to look like Chris!

Jars of LEGOs, in case anyone wanted to build something while they waited.

Chris's family!

Great little setup as you walked in!

My family waiting patiently!

Closer look at those LEGO shaped candy melts...Everyone loved these!

The crowd waiting for the birthday boy! And boy was he surprised!

A great crowd gathered to celebrate one special guy!

Though we didn't have our regular camera, we had to have
Chris get a picture with each table of people who came to celebrate him!

Chris made out like a bandit, and loved his LEGO gifts. He will have many LEGOs to build in the coming months, or at least until next birthday!

Thank you to all who came to help celebrate this wonderful guy!
