Gretchen's Frozen Fifth

One of my best friends, Joellen, let me talk her into doing a big surprise birthday party for her sweet Frozen-loving girl, Gretchen. As most little girls her age, she is crazy for anything Elsa or Anna, and her little brother loves Olaf almost as much. So we knew it was a perfect choice for her first friend birthday party!

Her invites set the tone for the party...Each snowflake uniquely cut from a simple coffee filter with a tiny bit of sparkle!

Decor:

Snowflakes, snowballs, and sparkles...OH MY! We wanted it to feel like a winter wonderland with bits of teal and purple, and I think we accomplished that...

For a party favor, we gave homemade hot chocolates and marshmallows, ready to use on a stick!

The birthday girl arrived...

And she was so happily surprised!

Gretchen's momma even surprised her with an Elsa dress!

Food:

We stuck with the theme of Frozen for our food choices, and tried to represent each character from the movie, while also keeping a balance of sweet and savory.

The savory side of the of the food setup...

Marshmallow's Snowballs

Sven's Reinder Food
Oaken's "Big Summer Blow-Out" Broccoli

Hans' & Anna's Sandwiches

And now the sweet side!!!

The GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS cake made by my talented sister, Jennie!

Elsa's Frozen Treats

Melted Snowman Water & Anna's Hot Chocolate Bar

The birthday girl sampling a little of everything...

These two kiddos love their Gia...
Thankful she hosted the party for us!

Activities/Games:

Pin the Nose on Olaf

Gretchen loved this one!

The completed Olaf!

Coronation Crown or Arctic Antlers

Marshmallow's Snowball Fight

The kids loved throwing snowballs at Marshmallow...and each other!

Snowflake Painting

So many smiling faces...
One of the finished Coronation Crowns...And one HAPPY GIRL!

A finished Arctic Antler too!

Time to open presents!!!

And finally...singing "Happy Birthday!" and blowing out the candles...

It was such a special party for a special gal and her momma!
